Ticket sales for your dance show, without a cash box at the door

Every dance school knows the rhythm: months of rehearsing, and then that one show every parent and grandparent wants to attend. The choreography is ready on time, but ticket sales still run on bank transfers, a list at the front desk and an envelope of change at the door.

That can be much tighter, and it does not need to cost anything special. In REQUR you put a show with showtimes and ticket types online, share one link and scan at the door with your phone. This article walks through how that works and what it costs.

In short

  • You publish a show with showtimes, ticket types and a fixed number of seats per hall.
  • Buyers pay with iDEAL on your own sales page, no account needed, and get their e-tickets by mail instantly.
  • At the door you scan the QR code on the ticket with your phone; the scan overview shows who is inside.
  • REQUR charges 0.10 euro per paid ticket sold, afterwards on your monthly invoice. Free tickets do not count.

One sales page for every showtime

A show in REQUR has a title, a venue and one or more showtimes, each with its own number of seats. Per show you create ticket types with their own price, adults and children up to twelve for example, and you set when sales open and close.

Once you publish, the show gets a fixed web address. You share that link in your newsletter and on social media, and the sales page's QR code turns into a poster for the studio in one go. The overview of all your shows can also be embedded on your own website.

Paying with iDEAL, no account needed

Parents buy tickets without logging in: name, email address, number of seats, pay with iDEAL. The payment runs through your own Mollie or Buckaroo account, so the proceeds simply land on your bank account.

During checkout the seats are held for half an hour, so a full hall never gets overbooked. If someone pays just too late while the hall has filled up, the money is refunded automatically. Double payments are refunded automatically too.

Want a free ticket for the teachers or the volunteers? Free ticket types are confirmed instantly, with a maximum per email address so the hall does not empty out to freebies.

Discount codes and refunds covered

Per show you create discount codes, as a percentage or a fixed amount, with a maximum number of uses. Handy for a members-only presale or a joint promotion with the dance school down the road.

If an order has to be cancelled, you do that from the orders overview. The tickets become invalid, the seats are released and the money goes back automatically through your payment provider. The buyer gets a mail about it without you lifting a finger.

Scanning with your phone

Every e-ticket is a PDF with a QR code per person, attached to the confirmation mail and always available through the order page. At the door you scan that code with your phone and see instantly whether the ticket is valid.

The scan overview shows per showtime who is inside, and you can correct a check-in when something goes wrong. Prefer a paper door list for the volunteers at the entrance? Export the orders to Excel with one click.

What it costs, and who it is for

REQUR charges 0.10 euro excluding VAT per paid ticket sold, afterwards on your monthly invoice. Free tickets and cancelled orders do not count, and your payment provider's transaction fees come on top as always. No percentage of your ticket revenue, no service fees for your audience.

The proceeds flow neatly into your bookkeeping: every paid order becomes a sales entry in SnelStart, e-Boekhouden or Moneybird, and a cancellation is booked against it automatically.

For dance schools the module is on by default. Do you run a different kind of club and want to sell tickets too, for a gala, a club party or a demonstration? We switch the module on for you on request.
