FitMan alternative: REQUR vs FitMan compared

FitMan is a Dutch member management system for fitness centres, from a single room to a chain with several sites. The system handles sign-ups, memberships, direct debits, access control, communication and reporting, and processes reversals automatically.

Prices are not listed. What FitMan does do, and this is fairer than most, is quote a range in its own frequently asked questions: from a few tens of euros to €300 and more a month, depending on your member count, your features and your support. In this article we set that structure against the way REQUR is built.

In short

  • FitMan publishes no rate, but quotes a few tens of euros to €300 and more a month itself. REQUR costs €39.99 with everything included.
  • At FitMan the member app and the POS are described as separate wishes. At REQUR they are standard in the plan.
  • Both systems process reversals automatically; at REQUR you know in advance what a reversal costs, namely €0.20.
  • REQUR has no brackets for members, locations or staff.

The range is wide

FitMan is honest about the spread: costs run from a few tens of euros to €300 and more a month, depending on your member count, the features you switch on and the support you buy. That is a useful answer to the question of what fitness software roughly costs, but it is no price you can budget on.

The tricky thing about such a range is that you only learn which end you are on after the conversation. Three variables, member count, features and support, mean three ways to end up higher than you hoped. So do not ask about the range, ask for your amount, including all three.

At REQUR the range does not exist: €39.99 a month, every feature switched on, support included, unlimited members and locations. That is the whole answer.

App and POS: standard or a wish?

FitMan describes the member app as a pleasant extra, letting members leave their card at home and check in with a QR or bar code. The POS sits there as optional: if you sell protein shakes, sports bags or coffee, a till is a must.

That is a reasonable way to present it, because not every room sells at the front desk. It does mean you have to work out per component whether it is in your proposal. At REQUR that question does not arise: the app in your branding for iOS and Android and the till linked to your card terminal are both part of the €39.99 plan.

Reversals: automatic at both, but what does it cost?

FitMan processes reversals automatically, and that is exactly what you want: a failed collection should not be chased by hand. REQUR does the same, with automatic re-collection and an overview of what is outstanding.

The difference is in the cost. At REQUR a reversal is €0.20 and that sits on the pricing page, alongside €0.20 for direct debits and iDEAL and €0.07 for card payments. At FitMan that rate is not published, so ask about it, together with whether a second collection attempt is charged again.

Access control is their strong point

FitMan clearly emphasises access control and the link with gates and cards, and builds the member administration around it. If you run a room that is open 24 hours a day with unstaffed periods, that is a serious argument.

REQUR puts the accent on the back office and the front desk: direct debits and invoicing that keep running, a POS with card terminal, AI scheduling, a link to your accounting package and reporting on revenue, occupancy and retention. If you run mostly group classes and memberships during staffed hours, that is the centre of gravity that fits.

Which one suits you?

Choose FitMan if access control is the core of your room: unstaffed hours, gates, cards and a system built around them. They are Dutch and open about what software roughly costs.

Choose REQUR if you want to see one amount instead of a range, and would rather not weigh up the app and the POS as separate wishes. €39.99 a month, everything switched on, and rates published right down to the reversal.
